What a future human review would look for.
Selected applicants, not a manufactured “top 1%.” These criteria are a draft for feedback and must be published before applications open.
- Evidence of work
- A product, company, research project, open-source contribution, or operating result that lets a human reviewer understand how you create value.
- Active practice
- You are currently building, operating, or founding, not applying only for status or access.
- Usefulness to the room
- You bring depth, judgment, and a willingness to help other participants make progress on the work in front of them.
- Canadian connection
- You live or work in Canada, are Canadian abroad, or have a concrete reason to contribute to a Canadian cohort.
Provisional commercial sequence
Apply → pay → review → activate or refund.
That sequence is a product hypothesis, not an active checkout. Before launch, Hackhouse must publish review timing, renewal, tax, cancellation, FX, fee, and refund terms. Membership would not include retreat attendance or travel costs.
